Challenge

Parents looked for a birth year in a paragraph of text.

The old site had eleven menu items, the Gold Star described in a long paragraph and the birth years listed in one sentence on an orange background. A parent could not see at once whether there was a group for their child, where it trained and how to sign up.

Solution

The group and the free session first, everything else after.

The header shows the promise, the Gold Star and two buttons straight away: first training free, and groups and schedule. Below come the numbers, the way of working, the certification and a grid of sixteen teams with birth year, category, number of sessions and pitch. After launch I look after the site through WebCare.

WebCare maintenance

After launch: WebCare maintenance

The academy runs training sessions; I look after the site through the whole sign-up season.

  • Twice a month Updates I update the system, theme and plugins after checking that nothing breaks. Critical fixes go in outside the schedule.
  • Every 2 weeks Backups A copy of the site kept off the server, ready to restore.
  • Around the clock Monitoring I see downtime right away, not from a client’s phone call.
  • Monthly Report A short summary: what I updated, what I fixed, what to watch out for.
